Davina Xanh Competes in Prestigious Curtis Cup

Two-time Big West Golfer of the Year and Cal State Fullerton alumna Davina Xanh was one of 16 amateur golfers at this weekend’s Curtis Cup, held June 12-14 at Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles.

Xanh is the first known Big West women’s golfer to represent either team in Curtis Cup competition.

Xanh, a native of Weston Super Mare, England, and top award-getter in the league after both the 2023-24 and 2025-26 seasons, was one of eight golfers comprising the Great Britain and Ireland Team in the biennial match between GB&I and the United States squaring off for the best-known team trophy for amateur women’s golfers.

Established in 1932, the competition sees various match play matches between players selected from the two teams of eight in singles, foursomes and fourball play over three days of action. Sunday, the United States was able to claim the 13-7 team victory.

On Friday, Xanh competed in fourball action with teammate Lily Hirst, falling to the US twosome of Kiara Romero and Asterisk Talley 4&2. In Saturday’s foursome, Xanh was paired with Charlotte Naughton and the GB&I duo took the point 3&2 over Talley and Anna Davis. In Sunday’s singles matches, Xanh again played against teen phenom Talley, falling 2&1.

The United States will look to defend the Cup in 2028 at Royal Dornoch in Scotland.
