The track & field season enters the postseason, starting with the 2026 Big West Track & Field Championships. The meet is hosted by Long Beach State at Jack Rose Track with main weekend on May 15-16. The decathlon and heptathlon were held on May 8-9. 

Last year, Cal Poly won the men’s title for the second straight year, while the women's crown went to UC Irvine for the first-time ever.

The Track & Field Ratings Index (TFRI) from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) ranks teams by comparing the best marks of the nation/region in a "mock meet".

 The Big West in USTFCCCA Event Squad Rankings Top 25
U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Event Squad rankings places a rank order to a program's "squad" of athletes in a particular event, using the cumulative season-best qualifying marks from a team's top-four ranked athletes on the national descending-order list. A team must have four or more athletes with a valid season-best mark to achieve a ranking in a particular event.
