Eugene, Ore. -- UC Riverside’s
Chelsea Aninyei took fifth in the triple jump to highlight The Big West’s performance on the final day of the 2026 NCAA Track & Field Championships, Saturday at Oregon’s Hayward Field.
Aninyei recorded a mark of 13.52/44’4.25” on the sixth and final attempt, a new school and conference record in the hop-skip-jump event. The Highlander junior was eighth after the preliminary rounds and improved three positions on the final jump. By virtue of placing in the top eight, Aninyei will receive All-America First-Team honors from USTFCCCA.
CSUN’s
Summer Mosley placed 15th in the discus throw with a mark of 54.59m/179’1”. Thanks to finishing in the ninth-16th range, Mosley will be bestowed All-America Second-Team status from USTFCCCA.
Saturday was also the second day of heptathlon competition. UC Irvine’s
Joy Anderson placed 19th with 5554 points and fellow Anteater
Jolie Robinson in 22nd with 5313 points. Anderson came into the day with 3511 points, while Robinson started at 3215. Anderson compiled 2043 points across three events with 606 in the long jump (5.17m/16’11.5”), 547 in the javelin (33.72m/110’7”) and 890 in the 800m (2:15.22). Robinson scored 2098 points on the day with 765 in the long jump (5.72m/18’9.25”), 668 in the javelin (40.05m/131’4”) and 665 in the 800m (2:32.27).
