Men's Track Athlete of the Week

  • Cal Poly’s Aidan McCarthy won the 800m race at the West Coast Relays to earn The Big West Men's Track Athlete of the Week award. It is McCarthy's sixth career track weekly honor from the conference, having won it once in 2022, twice in 2023 and twice last season. 

  • The Mustang graduate student ran a conference-leading time in the two-lap race (1:47.51) to place first. The time is also the third fastest ran in the West Region this season and currently No. 6 in Division I.

Men's Field Athlete of the Week

  • UC San Diego’s Miles Bennett won the high jump competition at the Jim Bush Legends Meet to claim The Big West Field Athlete of the Week honor. It is Bennett's first career weekly honor. 

  • Bennett placed first in the vertical jump competition with a personal-best clearance of 2.16m/7'1". Currently, the mark ranks No. 2 in school history, No. 1 in The Big West, No. 3 in the West Region and No. 5 in the nation this season.

  • Cal State Fullerton’s Nancy Dematte won the 400m race at the Jim Bush Legends Meet to take home the Big West Women's Track Athlete of the Week recognition. It is Dematte's first career weekly honor. 

  • The Titan junior crossed the finish line in the one-lap event in a personal-best time of 53.22. The time ranks No. 2 in program history, No. 1 in The Big West and No. 12 in the West Region.

Women's Field Athlete of the Week
Chelsea Aninyei, UC Riverside | Redshirt Junior • Bellflower, Calif.

  • UC Riverside's Chelsea Aninyei won the triple jump competition at the Vince O'Boyle Classic to collect the Big West Women's Field Athlete of the Week accolade. It is Aninyei's second career weekly honor from the conference, having won it once in 2025. 

  • The redshirt junior from Bellflower, Calif. tied a lifetime-best mark of 12.85m/42'2" to place first in the triple jump. The mark currently ranks first in The Big West, seventh in the West Region and 12th in NCAA Division I.
