Men's Track Athlete of the Week
Chase Walter, Cal Poly | Graduate • Laguna Niguel, Calif.

  • Cal Poly's Chase Walter ran a lifetime best and school record in the 800m at the Oxy Invitational to earn The Big West Men's Track Athlete of the Week award. It is the Walter's second career weekly honor, having won the award once earlier this year. 
     
  • Walter ran a Big West leading time in the and the third fastest time in school history in the men's 800m with a personal best of 1:47.89. The time ranks No. 1 in the Big West and is tied for the 24th best in the West Region.

Men's Field Athlete of the Week
Rory Deaney, Cal Poly | Junior • San Luis Obispo, Calif.

  • Cal Poly's Rory Devaney won the hammer throw and discus competitions at the Fresno State Invitational to claim The Big West Men's Field Athlete of the Week honor. It is the junior's fifth career weekly honor, having won the award once earlier this year, once last season and twice in 2023. 
     
  • Devaney broke the school record for the second time this season with a lifetime best of 69.92m/228'5", which ranks No. 2 in the Big West, No. 8 in the West Region and No. 13 in Division I this season.
     
  • The San Luis Obispo, Calif. native won the men's discus with a mark of 54.84m/179'11", just six inches off a seasonl-best throw.

Women's Track Athlete of the Week
Makiah Parker, Cal State Bakersfield | Freshman • Mansfield, Texas

  • Cal State Bakersfield's Mikiah Parker won the 100m at the Fresno State Invitational to claim The Big West Women's Track of the Week award. It is the the freshman's first career weekly honor.
     
  • Parker won the 100m with a time of 11.56 which ties a school record set in 1983. It is currently the second fastest time in The Big West. 
     
  • The Mansfield, Texas product was third in the 200m with a 23.72 effort.

Women's Field Athlete of the Week
Lilian Turban, Hawai'i | Senior • Tallinn, Estonia

  • Lilian Turban of Hawai'i placed first in the javelin and high jump competitions at the Steve Scott Inviational to earn The Big West Women's Field Athlete of the Week award. It is the the senior's fifth career weekly honor, having won it twice in 2022 and twice in 2023. 
     
  • Turban won the high jump with a clearance of 1.76m/5'9.25", tying a seasonal best. The mark is currently tied for third in The Big West and 44th in the West Region. 
     
  • The Tallinn, Estonia native recorded a Big West-leading toss of 45.85m/150'5" in the javelin to take home the win. 
     
  • Turban also produced a personal record in the shot put with a toss of 14.67m/48'1.75".
