Long Beach State is predicted to take third, receiving 40 points and two first-place votes. Last year, Portillo led Long Beach State with 55 goals, to go along with 19 assists, culminating in All-Big West First Team, All-Freshman Team and ACWPC All-America Third Team honors. Last year, Thomas was an All-Big West Second Team honoree with 56 goals. Telek, a two-time All-Big West and All-America honoree, set a new conference record for goals in a season with 101 in 2023.

The 2024 Big West Women's Water Polo Championship will see all eight teams converge on Schaal Aquatics Center on the campus of UC Davis April 26-28, with an eye to the championship trophy.

The quarterfinals are set to be played on Friday, April 26, with advancing teams back in the pool for semifinal competition Saturday. The final two teams will square off on Sunday, April 28 to battle for league superiority.

In 2023, No. 1 seed UC Irvine downed second-seeded Hawai'i in overtime by a final score of 10-9 in the championship matchup to secure its second straight title.
