Gianna Nocetti of UC Davis Named Player of the Week For Second Time This Season

  • 8137UC Davis senior attacker Gianna Nocetti led the No. 16 Aggies to a 3-0 weekend in Southern California to earn The Big West Women's Water Polo Player of the Week honors, presented by Kap7, for the second time this season (Jan. 28, 2026).

  • Nocetti turned in a dominant stretch with hat tricks in wins over UC San Diego, Brown, and Cal State Fullerton, totaling nine goals, two assists, and six steals. The weekend was highlighted by a 12-11 win over No. 15 UCSD, marking the program’s first regulation victory over the Tritons since 2022.

  • Across the three matches, Nocetti added six steals and was perfect on sprints in each contest, including a 4-for-4 mark on Sunday while reaching the 100-career assist milestone.

  • In 2026, Nocetti leads the Aggies in steals (35) and sprint wins (62), ranking first in the Big West in both categories. With 40 goals and 40 assists, Nocetti is the only UC Davis player to reach both marks this year.
