Ema Vernoux of UH Earns Player of the Week Following Five Score Performance

  • 25388Hawai‘i attacker Ema Vernoux led the Rainbow Wahine with a five-goal performance to earn The Big West Women’s Water Polo Player of the Week honor, presented by Kap 7, for the second time of the sophomore’s career (Feb. 26, 2025). 

  • Vernoux shot .625 from the field behind five scores (tied career-high) while also adding an assist and a steal in a tight contest against No. 3 Southern California.

  • The sophomore scored early, then tied the match at 7-7 with a penalty shot to secure the fifth hat trick of the season. Vernoux added two more goals in the third quarter to keep Hawai‘i in the mix in a high-scoring 13-14 setback. 

  • Vernoux has now amassed 28 goals and 12 assists for a total of 40 points (3rd on UH). The Rainbow Wahine are 4-0 in conference alongside an 11-5 overall mark.
