UC Santa Barbara picked up another national honor at the 2010 NCAA Track & Field Championships Friday as Ryan Martin achieved All-America accolades in the 800 meter run. The nationals are being held in the Pacific Northwest at the University of Oregon on historic Hayward Field.

Martin claimed his All-America designation by finishing fourth in the final of the 800, completing the race in 1:47.02. It is his first All-America honor in just his second season of competition at the DI level. UCSB just narrowly missed a second All-America honoree Friday as Julian deRubira finished ninth in the steeplechase, crossing the finish line in 8:49.34.

Meanwhile, the Big West was represented by one other athlete Friday in a multi event. In the decathlon, Cal State Northridge's Robert Robinson finished 18th with 7,148 points.
