First Day of NCAA Golf Regionals Complete

The Big West competitors completed their first day of action at the NCAA Men's Golf Regionals, the first step towards qualifying for the NCAA Championship. UC Irvine sits in a tie for 8th at the Southwest Regional in San Diego, while individuals Nick Delio of Cal State Northridge and Austin Graham of UC Davis are competing in the Southwest and West Regionals, respectively.

The Anteaters sit at +15 (303) after day one, nine strokes behind a four-way tie atop the team leaderboard. Max Greil finished at +2 to lead the club, putting him in a tie for 18th and six strokes behind the round one leader Eddie Olsen of UNLV. Jerry He had the second-best opening round for UCI at +3, followed by John Chin (+4), Bryan Harris (+6) and Michael Yang (+12).

Meanwhile, Delio sits in fourth place at the Southwest Regional. He carded a 71 to put him at 1-under for the round. Graham is up in Bremerton, Wash., at the West Regional and he finished at 3-over (71) to sit in a pack of players tied for 31st.
