CARLSBAD, Calif. – Long Beach State graduate student and Big West individual medalist Steen Zeman capped his collegiate career with a third-round 74 at the 2026 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships from Omni La Costa Resort & Spa on Sunday.

Zeman put together a 54-hole total of 3-over 220 (76-70-74) to finish tied for 72nd on the individual leaderboard. Sunday’s round saw three birdies, including one on the 10th hole to open the day, and back-to-back red numbers on holes 4 and 5.

Zeman stands as the first Big West men’s individual to advance to the NCAA Championships final site since 2019 (Zach Smith, UC Santa Barbara) and the first Long Beach State individual since 2012 (Philip Chian). Including the recent successes on the women’s side, this marks four straight seasons that a Big West golfer or team has advanced through regional play to represent the conference on the national stage.

The top 15 teams and nine individuals on non-advancing teams advance to one final round of stroke play to be contested on Monday to determine an individual champion. Then the field will be trimmed to the top eight teams who will be placed into a match play bracket to crown a team champion.

After 54 holes, Oklahoma State’s Preston Stout has a one-stroke lead over the field after putting together an impressive bogey-free round of 7-under 65 that included an opening round eagle and five birdies. The team lead belongs to Auburn at an aggregate score of 22-under 842, with host Texas three strokes behind.
