Busy September Earns Long Beach State's Norwin Gohm Big West Golfer of the Month

  • 8042Long Beach State junior Norwin Gohm opened the fall with a trio of Top 20 finishes to claim a first career Big West Golfer of the Month award for the month of September.  

  • Gohm opened the season with a tie for 20th at the Vuori Invitational in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.  before a tie for 17th at the William H. Tucker Invitational Sept. 25-26 in Alburquerque, N.M. Gohm’s time in New Mexico was highlighted by a first-round 66 before finishing at 4-under 212.  

  • Finally, the native of Singen, Germany, tied for sixth at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational to finish to finish a busy September. Gohm shot a 64 in the first round to lead the Beach to a program-low round stroke score of 265 on Sept. 29. As the team finished as runners-up.  

  • Gohm fired off rounds of 64, 69 and 71 on the Par-70 layout to close the event at 6-under 204 after rolling in 14 birdies.
