Long Beach State women's golfer Kay Hoey received second team All-America honors from the National Golf Coaches Association on Friday, May 25. It is the second time in her career that Hoey was named an All-American, as she collected second team accolades in 2005 as a freshman.

The 2007 Big West Player of the Year, Hoey advanced to the NCAA Championships as an individual and finished in a tie for 46th place with a 16-over 305 (79-77-75-74). She tied for 10th place at the NCAA West Regional with a 7-over 220 (77-73-70), qualifying her for the NCAA Championships as the top individual not on an advancing team.

Hoey had an outstanding season, which included four tournament titles. She won the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic, and then the Fresno State Invitational, Peg Barnard California Collegiate and Big West Championship in the spring. Hoey finished No. 20 in the final Golfstat Cup Standings and No. 25 in the Golfweek/Sagarin performance index.
