UC Irvine In 20th Place at NCAA Championship

The UC Irvine women's golf team is in 20th place at the 2007 NCAA Championship going into Friday's final round at the LPGA International Golf Course in Daytona Beach, Fla.

The Anteaters shot a third round team score of 316 and own a 54-hole total of 933 (303-314-316). Duke leads for the second straight day with a 16-over 880, eight shots ahead of second place Purdue.

UCI junior Selanee' Henderson shot a 76 on Thursday and is 18th on the individual leaderboard with a 9-over 225 (69-80-76). Freshman Patty Chawalitmetha carded an 80 and is 78th with a 235 (76-79-80), junior Kim Lorenzana has a 54-hole total of 237 (79-77-81) for 87th place and junior Jane Chin is 100th at 240 (83-78-79). Freshman Henna Cho is in 119th place with a total score of 249 (79-84-86).

Long Beach State junior Kay Hoey, participating as an individual, shot a 3-over 75 on Thursday. She is tied for 54th place with a 54-hole total of 15-over 231 (79-77-75).

The tournament concludes with 18 holes on Friday.
