Katharina Zeilinger Named Big West Golfer of the Month After Leading the Titans to Team and Individual Titles

  • 27265After notching a first individual collegiate tournament victory, Cal State Fullerton’s Katharina Zeilinger has been named February’s Big West Golfer of the Month, a first career award.  

  • Zeilinger captured the title at the San Diego State Classic from Feb. 9-10, shooting a 9-under 207 (68-69-70), the second-lowest 54-hole score in program history. Along with individual acclaim, the senior led the Titans to the team title in the 12-team field, besting nearest competitor UC Irvine by 20 strokes with a combined 12-under-par score.  

  • The senior from Neuhofen, Austria, closed the month with another strong showing at the Bruin Wave Invitational, finishing 20th individually highlighted by a 1-under 71 in the first round from Valencia Country Club. Cal State Fullerton secured a fourth-place finish against a competitive field with No. 1 Stanford, No. 10 Pepperdine and No. 14 UCLA the trio above them in the 13-team field.
