Cal Poly Freshman Rafael Bobo-Lloret Earns Big West Golfer of the Month for February

  • 8038Highlighted by a first collegiate individual title at the Bill Cullum Invitational, Cal Poly freshman Rafael Bobo-Lloret has earned Big West Golfer of the Month for February. 

  • The native of Marseille, France, fired off rounds of 73, 69 and 74 at the Saticoy Club on Feb. 2 and 3 to finish as event co-champion with Utah Tech’s David Liechty with an even-par tally. The Mustangs finished the tournament in second as a team, just one stroke back from Cal State Fullerton on the leaderboard.  

  • Bobo-Lloret compiled a score of 3-under 213 at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate on Feb. 23-25 at the Classic Club in Palm Desert to round out the month. The score was the best for a Cal Poly golfer and ranked in an eight-way tie for 17th individually. Coincidentally, Liechty was again knotted with Bobo-Lloret's score.
