2025 All-Big West Men’s Tennis Team and Awards
The Big West is proud to announce its 2025 All-Big West Men’s Tennis Team and Awards, four days after the conclusion of the 2025 Big West Men’s Tennis Championship. The teams and awards were voted on by the league's seven head coaches.
UC Irvine senior
Noah Zamora is The Big West Player of the Year. It is the 10th time overall and first time since 2015 that an Anteater has won the award. Zamora went 13-4 overall, all at the top flight, and an undefeated 4-0 in conference play. The senior clinched The Big West Championship crown with a 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 comeback win at No. 1 singles for a 4-3 UC Irvine team victory. Zamora not only made the All-Big West First Team as a singles player, but also as a doubles pair with teammate
Andy Nguyen, going 9-7 overall and 2-3 in Big West action, all at the No. 1 spot.
Kaveh Taheri of UC Davis is The Big West Freshman of the Year. It is the fifth time that an Aggie has claimed the league’s top first-year award. The UC Davis rookie went 10-5 overall, 1-0 at No. 2 and 9-5 at No. 3, going 5-1 in league action. In doubles, Taheri, when paired with Lucas Bollinger, went 9-8 overall, 4-3 at No. 1 and 5-5 at No. 2, and 2-2 in conference play.
UC Irvine head coach
Mike Saunders is The Big West Coach of the Year. It is the second consecutive season and third time overall that Saunders has been bestowed the league’s top coaching honor. The 10th-year head coach guided the Anteaters to an 18-5 overall record, going 5-1 in conference play. UC Irvine won the 2025 Big West Men’s Tennis Championship as the No. 2 seed, defeating No. 7 seed UC Riverside 4-0 in the first round, No. 3 seed UC Davis 4-3 in the semifinals and top-seeded UC Santa Barbara 4-3 for the title. The Anteaters are ranked No. 44 in the latest ITA rankings released on May 1. UC Irvine will represent The Big West in the upcoming NCAA Men’s Tennis Championship with a matchup at San Diego on Saturday, May 3 at 1 p.m.

Lucas Bollinger (15-5, 3-3 BW), UC Santa Barbara’s
Gianluca Brunkow (10-8, 3-1 BW), UC San Diego’s
Carson Lee (11-7, 3-2 BW), UC Santa Barbara’s
Lucca Liu (13-4, 5-0 BW) and UC Davis’
Ryan Torres (6-9, 2-2 BW).
The doubles pairing on the All-Big West first team features UC Irvine’s Nguyen and Zamora, UC Santa Barbara’s Brunkow and Liu (4-0, 2-0 BW), UC Davis’
Ivan Savkin and Torres (11-7, 5-1 BW), and
Quinn Snyder and
Azuma Visaya of Hawai‘i (4-2, 3-0 BW).
The All-Big West second team includes Taheri, Snyder (12-1, 2-0 BW), Visaya (7-10, 1-3 BW), Cal Poly’s
Raz Haviv (3-11, 1-0 BW), and UC Santa Barbara’s
Diogo Morais (17-1, 5-0 BW) and
Dominique Rolland (13-1, 3-0 BW).
Second team doubles include UC Davis’ Bollinger and Taheri, Cal Poly’s
John Cross and
Sean Kamyshev (6-2, 2-1 BW), Cal Poly’s Haviv and
Bastiaan Weststrate (3-5, 1-2 BW), UC San Diego’s Lee and
Diogo Tinoco (7-7, 4-2 BW), and UC San Diego’s
Zach Pellouchoud and
Pelayo Rodriguez (9-9, 3-3 BW).
