Senior Charlie Forster led Long Beach State to a record-breaking performance at the Lake Las Vegas Invitational to highlight February and claim Big West Golfer of the Month. This is Forster’s second career monthly honor, also claiming the award for April 2024.  

Forster won the tournament with a 13-under 203 to help the Beach set a new program record versus par of -34. The win broke the previous best by four strokes and was the 32nd team win in LBSU history. 

Forster opened the tournament with an 8-under 64 and led wire-to-wire, finishing in front of teammate Alejandro de Castro Piera in second place at Reflection Bay GC in Henderson, Nev., Feb. 24-26. Forster rolled in 14 birdies and an eagle in the three-round event.  

Opening the spring at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate Feb. 13-15, the Winchester, England, native shot a five-under 65 in the middle round and finished in 30th individually from Ocean Course Hokaula in Lihu?e, Kaua?i. 

Starting the second round from the ninth hole with a par, Forster went birdie-birdie-eagle-birdie followed by 13 pars to close with a 65 on the scorecard.
