UC San Diego’s Chloe Braun clocked in a time program record time of 59.09 in the preliminary 100 yard-breaststroke at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center Federal Way, Washington.
Unfortunately, Braun’s time was 20th overall and did not qualify for the final. Despite this, the Toulouse, France native entered the NCAA field with the 25th-fastest time in the event and stands tall as the Tritons’ first Division I entrant into the national postseason in athletics history.
The 59.14 mark was set in the preliminary rounds in Houston a month ago. In the finals, Braun raced to the top of the podium and finished in 59.75. The pair of sub-one minutes swims were a first for Braun, who set a new personal best while achieving the NCAA B cut.
Braun will be engrained in the UCSD record books after setting career marks in the 50 and 100 breast. The junior also holds the record in the 200 medley relay as well as the 400 medley relay swimming the breaststroke led in each with all four records were set in 2025 by the junior.
