UC Santa Barbara’s Liu Drops Round of 32 Match at NCAA Men’s Tennis Singles Championship

 UC Santa Barbara senior Lucca Liu fell to No. 9-16 seed Paul Inchauspe of Princeton in three sets in a round of 32 matchup on the second day of the 2025 NCAA Men’s Tennis Singles Championship, Wednesday at USTA Main Campus.  

The Curitibia, Brazil native took the first set from the national seed in convincing fashion 6-2. The Gaucho senior had match point in the second set at 5-3, before conceding it 7-6(4). Inchauspe secured the match win in the third set by a score 6-1.

Liu joined Pablo Masjuan (2024), Joseph Guillin (2019) and Nicolas Moreno de Alboran (2016) as Gauchos to advance past the opening round of the NCAA Men’s Tennis Singles Championship within the last 10 years.
