Cal State Fullerton's Rash, UC Irvine's Hawkins, Long Beach State's Turner and Wyllie of Hawai'i Claim Weekly Honors

Men's Track Athlete of the Week 
Reyte Rash, Cal State Fullerton | Senior • Riverside, Calif.

    Cal State Fullerton's Reyte Rash won the 400m at the Challenge Cup to claim the Men's Track Athlete of the Week honor. It is the second career weekly honor for rash, having won it once last season (March 14). 
  • The senior won the race with a personal-best clocking of 47.48. It is the fastest time in The Big West so far this season. 

  • Also Nominated: Tyler Holl (UC Santa Barbara), Cameron Rhone (Long Beach State); 

Men's Field Athlete of the Week 
Jacob Hawkins, UC Irvine | Junior • Brentwood, Calif.
  • 8136

    UC Irvine's Jacob Hawkins won the discus and shot put competitions at the Challenge Cup to earn the Men's Field Athlete of the Week award. It is the first career weekly honor for Hawkins. 
  • The junior broke a 41-year old school record in the discus with a personal-best throw of 59.03m/193'8". 

  • Hawkins also had a personal-record effort in the shot put with a mark of 17.83m/58'6".
  • Also Nominated: Matthew Garrett (Cal State Bakersfield), Eitan Goore (UC Santa Barbara), Elijah Harris (Long Beach State), Enrique Lara (Cal State Fullerton); 

Women's Track Athlete of the Week 
Rahni Turner, Long Beach State | Junior • Mesa, Ariz.
  • 32247Long Beach State's Rahni Turner won the 100m hurdles at the Challenge Cup to earn the Women's Track Athlete of the Week honor. It is the second career weekly honor for Turner, having won it once last season (March 14). 

  • The Mesa, Ariz. product finished the 100m hurdle race in 13.22, a new meet record. 

  • Turner also finished third in the 200m (24.95) and was a member of the 4x100 relay that won the competition in 46.66.  
  • As a team, Long Beach state won the Challenge Cup for the third straight year and 12th time overall. 

  • Also Nominated: Maddie Conte (UC Santa Barbara), Jazara Davis (Cal State Fullerton), Malia Gay (UC Irivne), Sammie Gordon (Hawai'i). 

Women's Field Athlete of the Week 
Tara Wyllie, Hawai'i | Sophomore • Canberra, Australia
  • 8036Tara Wyllie of Hawai'i finished first in the triple jump at the Hornet Invitational to claim the Women's Field Athlete of the Week award. It is Wyllie's first career weekly honor. 

  • Wyllie recorded a mark of 12.69m/41'7.75", which ranks eighth nationally and leads The Big West. 

  • With the performance, the sophomore moves into fourth all-time at Hawai'i in the event. 
  • Also Nominated: Rori Dennes-Lamont (Long Beach State), Reyna Johnson (UC Irvine), Carissa Martinez (Cal State Fullerton);
