All-Time Big West MLS Draft Selections
The Big West had two men's soccer standouts selected in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft. UC Santa Barbara freshman midfielder
Manu Duah was selected with the first overall pick to San Diego FC. Sacramento State sophomore forward
Donovan Sessoms was drafted with the first pick of the third round, 61st overall, also by San Diego FC. The selections were presented online on MLSsoccer.com, Friday.
Duah subsequently becomes The Big West’s highest selection in the MLS SuperDraft history. The previous record holder was Luis Silva, also of UC Santa Barbara, who went fourth overall in the 2012 edition of the draft. By signing an MLS Generation Adidas contract prior to getting selected, Duah is now guaranteed a spot on San Diego FC's roster for the next three seasons.
The Ghana native is the fifth Gaucho soccer player in the last 10 years and 32nd overall to get selected in the MLS Drafts. Duah played 14 games for UC Santa Barbara as a freshman in 2024, with the Gauchos going 8-3-3 in those matches.
Sessoms was an All-Big West First Team selection, only the sixth in Hornet program history, after transferring in from UNLV. The Antelope, Calif., product finished the 2024 season with 10 goals, seven of those in Big West play, and 20 points overall. Sessoms joins Chimdum Mez as the only Hornets (as members of The Big West) selected in the MLS SuperDraft. The draftees become the 56th and 57th Big West men's soccer players, respectively, to be selected in the history of the MLS SuperDraft.
With the 89th overall pick, former UC Riverside standout
Aleksander Vukovic was selected. Vukovic was an All-Big West selection as a Highlander before transferring to Marshall before the start of the 2024 season.
