United Soccer Coaches All-Region Teams
Eleven men’s soccer student-athletes from The Big West were named to the 2025 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Men’s All-Far West Region Teams.
One goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders and three forwards represent The Big West on the list of All-West Region listings. Three student-athletes were placed on the First Team, while four were on the Second Team.
UC Santa Barbara sophomore defender
Calle Mollerberg, UC Irvine junior defender
Brady Treinen and UC Irvine senior forward
Misael Gonzalez Lopez were placed on the First Team. All three were All-Big West First Team selections. Mollerberg was the league's Defensive Player of the Year after playing in 20 games and anchoring the UCSB back line that produced a 1.00 goals-against average in overall games and a minuscule 0.33 mark in conference play. Treinen played and started in 21 games and helped the Anteater defense to a 0.86 goals-against average, while also compiling two assists. Gonzalez Lopez was the offensive catalyst for UCI with seven goals and two assists.
UC Irvine had three honorees on the Second Team with senior defender
Nolan DiCenzo, senior midfielder
Agaton Pourshahidi and junior midfielder
Isaac Powell. On the All-Big West teams, Pourshahidi was a First Team member, while DiCenzo was a Second Team honoree and Powell an Honorable Mention.
Cal State Fullerton had two selections on the Second Team in sophomore midfielder
Jose de la Torre and senior forward
Mario Carlos. Both were All-Big West First Team selections, while Carlos was the Offensive Player of the Year and de la Torre the Midfielder of the Year. de la Torre compiled four goals and league-leading seven assists for Cal State Fullerton. In conference play, the Titan midfielder provided three goals and four assists. Carlos led The Big West in overall goals during the regular season with seven, five of them coming in league play.
UC Santa Barbara goalkeeper
Owen Beninga recorded a 0.52 goals-against average manning the net, en route to earning a spot on the All-Far West Region Second Team.
Cal Poly defender
Parker Owens earned All-Far West Region Second Team, leading the Mustangs to a 0.75 goals against-average on the season.
Sacramento State junior forward
Donovan Sessoms rounds out the honorees for The Big West, being selected to the Second Team. Sessoms amassed two goals and three assists on the year and was subsequently placed on the All-Big West Second Team.
The United Soccer Coaches will name its 2025 All-Americans for NCAA Division I men's soccer later this week.
