Maximilian Arfsten will participate in the upcoming 2026 Major League Soccer All-Star Game, held in Charlotte, N.C. on Wednesday, July 29. It is the second year in a row that the former Aggie has been named an All-Star.
The MLS All-Star Game will feature the MLS standouts against the LIGA MX All-Stars on July 29 at Bank of America Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. PT and can be streamed on MLS Season Pass via AppleTV, DirecTV, Comcast Xfinity or Amazon Prime Video.
Arfsten has amassed four goals and three assists as a defender in 17 games for the Columbus Crew. The performance not only got the former Aggie an All-Star nod, but also a spot on the US Men’s National Team (USMNT) in the recent FIFA World Cup.
Arfsten played two seasons at UC Davis from 2019-21 (2020 season was canceled due to COVID) and compiled nine goals and eight assists. The Fresno, Calif. product was a Big West All-Freshman Team selection in 2019 and was named Offensive Player of the Year and All-Big West First Team in 2021. Arfsten decided to go pro in 2022, signing with San Jose Earthquakes II, and was drafted 14th overall by the Columbus Crew in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft.
Roster selections were determined via fan voting, coach’s selection and commissioner’s pick. Arfsten was one of 18 coach’s selections.
