Abel Jordan, Cal State Fullerton Men's Track Athlete of the Week Sophomore • Madrid, Spain

• Cal State Fullerton's Abel Jordan was part of two event wins at the Challenge Cup Classic to earn The Big West Track Athlete of the Week accolade. Jordan is a first-time weekly honoree. 

• The sophomore won the 110 hurdles competition, crossing the finish line in 14.20. The time currently ranks first in The Big West and 34th in the region. 

• Jordan also ran the anchor leg of the 4x100m relay team that went on to place first with a performance of 40.15.

Chase Tarr, UC Santa Barbara Men's Field Athlete of the Week Graduate • Maryville, Calif.

•  UC Santa Barbara's Chase Tarr won the javelin throw at the Challenge Cup Classic to claim The Big West Men's Field Athlete of the Week distinction. It is Tarr's second career weekly honor from the conference, having won it once last season. 

• Tarr threw the javelin 64.36m/211'1" for the win. The mark is first in The Big West, 28th in the region and 65th in the nation.

Kaitlyn Williams, Long Beach State  Women's Track Athlete of the Week Junior • Carson, Calif.

• Long Beach State's Kaitlyn Williams won one track event at Challenge Cup Classic to earn The Big West Women's Track Athlete of the Week award. Williams is a first-time weekly honoree. 

• The junior won the 100 with a personal- and meet-record of 11.49. The time ranks first in The Big West, 24th in the region and 50th in the nation. 

• Williams also ran a leg on the 4x100 relay team at the Trojan Invitational, crossing the finish line in 45.99. 

• In the field, Williams finished runner-up in the long jump with a mark of 5.80m/19'0.5".

Amanda Spear, UC Santa Barbara Women's Field Athlete of the Week Junior • Thousand Oaks, Calif.

• UC Santa Barbara's Amanda Spear won two events at the Challenge Cup Classic to earn The Big West Women's Field Athlete of the Week honor. Spear is a first-time weekly honoree. 

• The junior won the hammer throw with a personal-best effort of 54.76m/179'8". The mark ranks second in the conference and 63rd regionally. 

• Spear also won the discus throw with a performance of 48.52m/159'2". 

• Spear hit a personal-best in the shot put with a distance of 12.60m/41'4.25".
