Long Beach State and Hawai'i Duos Take Home Track & Field Weekly Honors

• Long Beach State junior Mohammed Mohamed ran a personal-best time of 1:48.89 in the 800 open for the win in his heat, third fastest overall, at the Hayward Premiere to earn The Big West Men's Track Athlete of the Week honor. 
 
• Mohamed's time ranks fifth in the Beach record books. It also leads the conference, is sixth in the west region and 12th in the NCAA.

Jason Smith, Long Beach State 
Men's Field Athlete of the Week 
Graduate Student • San Bruno, Calif.

28898• Long Beach State grduate student Jason Smith won both the long jump and high jump events at the Hayward Premiere to claim The Big West Men's Field Athlete of the Week award.
 
• Smith won the long jump competition with a distance of 7.69m/25'2.75", establishing a new meet record. The mark ranks first in The Big West, fifth in the west region and 11th nationally. 

• In the high jump, Smith recorded a mark of 2.13m/6'11.75" for the win. The height ranks second in the conference and 14th regionally.

Alyssa Mae Antolin, Hawai'i 
Women's Track Athlete of the Week 
Sophomore • Kihei, Hawaii 

28895• Hawai'i sophomore Alyssa Mae Antolin ran personal-best times in the 100 and 200, and helped propel the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams to a school record at the Stanford Invitational, to earn The Big West Women's Track Athlete of the Week honor. 

• Antolin ran a personal-best and conference-leading time of 24.03 in the 200 for fourth place. She also ran a personal-best 11.97 in the 100. 

• Antolin also ran strong legs on the 4x100 relay team, that clocked 46.38 for second place, and 4x400 relay team, that crossed the finish line in 3:47.25. Both times are Hawai'i program records. The 4x400 relay time currently leads The Big West.

Lilian Turban, Hawai'i 
Women's Field Athlete of the Week 
Freshman • Tallinn, Estonia 

28896• Hawai'i freshman Lilian Turban won the high jump, runner-up in the collegiate shot put and sixth in the collegiate javelin at the Stanford Invitational to claim The Big West Women's Field Athlete of the Week honor. 
 
• Turban won the high jump competition with a clearance of 1.78m/5'10", matching a personal best. The mark currently ranks second in the conference and 12th in the region. 

• Turban also placed second in the collegiate shot put with a throw of 12.43m/40'9.5" and sixth in the javelin with a mark of 37.20m/122'.
