Michael Phillips, Long Beach State  Men's Track Athlete of the Week   Sophomore • Tallahassee, Fla.

• Sophomore Michael Phillips ran a personal-best and a Long Beach State program record 3:41.08 in the 1500 at the Bryan Clay Invitational to earn The Big West Men's Track Athlete of the Week honor. 
 
• Phillips' time broke a 44-year old school record and is the fastest performance by a Big West athlete in at least 12 years. It ranks first in the conference and 23rd regionally.

Josh Farmer, UC Irvine  Men's Field Athlete of the Week  Junior • San Diego, Calif.

• UC Irvine junior Josh Farmer scored 7588 points in the decathlon competition for second place at the Bryan Clay Invitational to claim The Big West Men's Field Athlete of the Week award. 
 
• Farmer established lifetime bests in the 100 (10.62), 400 (47.80) and 1500 (4:37.11), while notching season bests in the long jump (23'10.75"), shot put (45'1") and 110 hurdles (14.92).

• His 7588 points ranks him first in the conference, 12th in the region and 17th in the nation.

Trinity Ruelas, Cal State Fullerton  Women's Track Athlete of the Week  Senior • San Dimas, Calif.

• Cal State Fullerton senior Trinity Ruelas ran 16:01.16 in the 5000 for the win at the Bryan Clay Invitational to earn The Big West Women's Track Athlete of the Week honor. 

• Ruelas broke her own school record with the performance. The time ranks first in the conference and 20th in the region.

Marlene Gutierrez, UC Davis  Women's Field Athlete of the Week  Senior • Lindsay, Calif.

• UC Davis senior Marlene Gutierrez had a pair of personal bests in the shot put and hammer throw at the Mt. SAC Invitational to earn her second consecutive Big West Women's Field Athlete of the Week award. 
 
• The Lindsay, Calif. native recorded a personal-best in the shot put with a mark of 15.32m/50'3.25", ranking first in the conference and 46th in the region. 

• Gutierrez recorded a personal best in the hammer throw as well with a distance of 58.08m/190'7", which ranks second in the conference.
