Cal Poly and Long Beach State came out of the multis with the champions as the Mustangs' Julianna Ruotolo and the Beach's Aaron Booth claimed the heptathlon and decathlon titles, respectively.
Ruotolo becomes just the second Mustang to win the hep championship, joining former Cal Poly great Sharon Day who won in 2008. She put up 4,832 points for the crown, winning a total of three events over the two-day competition. The final day was especially strong for Ruotolo as she finished third in the long jump with a mark of 5.51 meters (18-01) for 703 points, seventh in the javelin with a toss of 27.91 meters (91-07) for 437 points and tops in the 800 with a time of 2:20.75 for 813 points.

UC Davis nabbed third in Sydney Holmes with 4,698 points, topped by her second place showing in the long jump (5.53m/18-1.75).
Boothe won the decathlon with 7,520 points, second-best in program history and just 111 points shy of the meet record set by Fresno State's Pete Mansur in 1984. The point total was also the best in the decathlon since CSUN's Robert Robinson had 7,526 in 2010 and just the fifth 7500+ score in league history.
He finished no lower than fourth in any event, won five competitions and finished as the runner-up in two others. The final day was a strong one for Boothe, highlighted by a first place showing in the javelin with a toss of 60.74 meters (199-03) for 749 points, and second place finishes in the pole vault with a height of 4.41 meters (14-05.50) for 734 points and the discus with a mark of 39.38 meters (129-02) for 652 points.
