Track & Field Weekly Honors Highlighted By Repeat Winner

MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
JUSTIN ROBISON, CAL POLY

• Cal Poly's Justin Robison won his second straight Big West Men's Track Athlete of the Week award after another outstanding distance performance.

• Robison finished second in the 5000-meters at the Sound Running College Invite, finishing the event in 13:46.80 which set his new PR by nearly 28 seconds.

• His time is the second-best 5000m in program history and the second fastest time in the league since the event record was set in 2005.

WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
KATIE CAMARENA, UC SANTA BARBARA

• UC Santa Barbara's Katie Camarena blazed a trail in two races at two different meets last weekend, earning Big West Women's Track Athlete of the Week accolades.

• The senior finished first in the 1500 in 4:17.85 at the Sound Running College Invite, then finished second in the 800 with a time of 2:08.64 at the Mustang Quad Meet.

• Camarena's time in the 1500 is the best in the league, while her 800 time ranks second. The 1500 is also second on the all-time program list and 18th in the NCAA.

MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
JASON SMITH, LONG BEACH STATE
Junior • San Bruno, Calif. • Archbishop Riordan HS

• Long Beach State jumper Jason Smith swept a pair of jumps at the Stanford Invitational last week, netting him Big West Men's Field Athlete of the Week honors.

• The San Bruno native won the long jump with an effort of 7.78 meters (25-06) and the high jump with a showing of 2.20 meters (7-02).

• He set an outdoor PR in both events, ranks atop the Big West performance list in both events and ranks in the top eight in the region and the top 14 in the NCAA in both events.

WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
SAMEERAH EVANS, CSUN

Freshman • Vallejo, Calif. • Vallejo HS

• CSUN freshman Sameerah Evans put up impressive performances in the two jumps she competed in at the Red & Black Invitational, winning her first career Big West Women's Field Athlete of the Year award.

• Evans leaped 41-03.25 in the triple jump, the top effort in the field. She also jumped 17-01.25 in the long jump which was good for fifth place.

• The triple jump is the second longest leap by a Matador freshman in school history and sixth in program lore overall.
