• Cal State Fullerton's Sam Ayala had a strong showing in the 1500 at the Fullerton Spring Invite, resulting in Big West Men's Track Athlete of the Week honors.
• Ayala won the event in 3:44.85, a mark that is tops in the Big West and a PR by almost four seconds.
• His time also broke a 27-year old school record by over four seconds.

MOLLY ROSS, CAL POLY

• Cal Poly's Molly Ross added another Big West Women's Track Athlete of the Week honor to her ledger following her performance at the Wildflower Invite.
• Ross won both of her events at the meet, winning the 100 hurdles in 13.73 and 400 hurdles in 60.90. She also was the second leg on the winning 4x400 relay squad (3:47.92).

• UC Irvine's Josh Farmer won his first decathlon competition as an Anteater last weekend at the Franson Classic Multis, resulting in Big West Men's Field Athlete of the Week honors.
• Farmer put up 7,648 points over the course of his win, the top total in the Big West, second in the West Region and fourth in the NCAA.
• His mark is the second-best total in school history, sitting only behind 1978 national champion and Big West record holder Mauricio Bardales.

WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
BROOKE TJERRILD, CAL POLY

• Cal Poly's Brooke Tjerrild set a Big West record in the pole vault last weekend at the Wildflower Invitational, earning her Big West Women's Field Athlete of the Week honors.
• Tjerrild cleared the bar at 4.18 meters (13-08.5), setting a new league record by half an inch. The previous record had stood since 2000 (Paula Serrano, Cal Poly).
• Her jump is an outdoor PR, leads the Big West, is tied for eighth in the West Region and ranks 18th nationally.
