Cal State Fullerton Nabs Trio Of Track & Field Honors

MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

• Cal State Fullerton hurdler Charles Kelly put in a pair of top-notch performances at the CSF Tri-Meet last week, earning Men's Track Athlete of the Week honors.

• The junior won the 110-meter hurdles in 14.26, while also taking first in the 400 hurdles in 52.18.

• His 110 hurdle mark is a new PR and is currently third in the NCAA. His 400 hurdles time is his second-fastest showing ever and is third in the nation.

WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
TRINITY RUELAS, CAL STATE FULLERTON

Junior • San Dimas, Calif. • Bishop Amat HS

• Cal State Fullerton middle distance runner Trinity Ruelas started off her 1500-meter season strong at the CSF Tri-Meet last week, grabbing Women's Track Athlete of the Week accolades.

• Ruelas ran the event in 4:22.66, good for first place in her first race in over a year.

• Her mark is tops in the country and shattered her previous PR by over 11 seconds.

MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
JERED ESPANOLA, UC DAVIS
Junior • Union City, Calif. • James Logan HS

• UC Davis pole vaulter Jered Espanola started his season with a win at the CSF Tri-Meet, earning Field Athlete of the Week honors.

• He won the event with a high clearance of 5.01 meters (16-5.25), his second straight victory of the season and the fourth time in his career that he has cleared five meters.

WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
NAIAH BOARDINGHAM, CAL STATE FULLERTON

Senior • Los Angeles, Calif. • El Camino Real HS

• Cal State Fullerton jumper Naiah Boardingham had a big effort in her first competition in over a year, earning Women's Field Athlete of the Week honors.

• Boardingham won the long jump with a mark of 6.13 meters (20-1.5) at the CSF Tri-Meet.

• She narrowly missed her PR in the event, falling short by just .06 meters.
