Dyer, Cantlay Earn Second Career Golfer Of The Month Awards

• Cal State Fullerton senior Jack Dyer collected his second career Big West Men’s Golfer of the Month honor as three top-10 efforts made him the top performer in October.

• Dyer began the month sharing medalist honors with two others at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational in Erie, Colo. In his second career victory, Dyer shot a 12-under 204 with rounds of 66, 68 and 70. He tied for first place along with Colorado’s Daniel O’Loughlin and Grand Canyon’s Michael Salazar at the par-72, 7,703-yard Colorado National Golf Club.

• He also earned back-to-back eighth place finishes at the Oregon State Invitational and Hoakalei Country Club Invitational.

• Dyer posted two rounds of 70 and finished at 1-under 212 in Corvallis.

• At the Hoakalei CC Invitational, Dyer carded a 7-under 209 with three consecutive below par rounds of 70, 68 and 71. His second round 68 represented his third in the 60s this month.

• Dyer’s efforts helped the Titans finish fourth as a team at the Mark Simpson and Hoakelei CC Invites.

• Cal Poly junior Caroline Cantlay rode a school record to her second career Big West Women’s Golfer of the Month accolade.

• Cantlay, who also earned Golfer of the Month honors last October, posted a school record 65 in the second round of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Kapolei, Hawai‘i. She had seven birdies and no birdies en route to setting the mark.

• Cantlay concluded the 14-team tournament tied for second with an aggregate 4-under 212 score. The Mustangs came in third place overall.

• She began October at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in Seattle, Wash., finishing with rounds of 81 and 79 to place 39th in a field of 60.

• Cantlay now owns school records for 18 holes, 36 holes (138 at UC Irvine Invitational last year) and 54 holes (206, also at UCI Invite). She has 10 career rounds of par or better, including three in the 60s. She has tallied 11 top-20 finishes and six top-10 finishes in her career.
