The final day of the West Regional meet saw Long Beach State's Colin Dunbar highlight the Big West competitors in action by qualifying for his second event at the NCAA Championships. The regional meet was held at historic Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon in Eugene, Ore.

Dunbar finished 10th in the discus with a mark of 180-01 (54.90m). Dunbar previously qualified for NCAAs with a fourth place showing in the hammer on Friday. He is the lone Big West athlete to qualify for two events at the NCAA Championships.

Dunbar, along with eight other Big West athletes, will head to the Midwest for the NCAA Championship meet to be held June 8-11. The battle for the national championships will be held at Drake Stadium on the campus of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.
