UC Irvine's Charles Jock was recognized for his outstanding season by his selection to compete for Team USA at next month's North American, Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) Under-23 Track & Field Championships.
The meet will be conducted July 9-11 in Miramar, Fla. Jock, who recently completed his sophomore season at UCI, will compete in the 800 meters and he also is in the pool for the 4x400 relay. He is the lone Big West athlete on Team USA and joins UCLA's Cory Primm in representing the U.S. in the 800.
Jock, who will also compete in the 800 at the USA Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, next week, set the UCI record in the 800 four times this season, a record previously held by former Anteater great and Olympian Steve Scott.
