Two UC Davis athletes headlined this week's Big West track & field honors, making the Aggies the lone program to come away with multiple awards after a solid weekend of action.

Jonathan Sees claimed the Men's Athlete of the Week mention, while the other UCD honoree was Kiara Reed who was named Co-Women's Track Athlete of the Week along with Tenise Brewer of Cal Poly.

Sees, a junior from Newark, Calif., finished with a time of 3:50.91 in the 1500 at the Johnny Mathis Invitational. The effort gave him first place in the race, is the fastest time on the team this season and also gives him a new PR.

Reed, a sophomore from Chico, Calif., finished first in the 800 at the Johnny Mathis Invitational, completing the race in 2:11.85. She also anchored the 4x400 relay which finished first in 3:52.55. Reed’s 800 showing is the best on the squad so far this season and is the 10th-best 800 in UC Davis lore.

Brewer, a sophomore from Oakland, Calif., came in second at the Cal Poly Invitational in the 100 hurdles, completing the final in 14.01.

The field awards went to a pair of established veterans as Reindell Cole of Cal State Northridge and Jameena Hunt of Cal State Fullerton won the Men's Field Athlete of the Week and Women's Field Athlete of the week, respectively.

Cole, a junior from Las Vegas, Nev., finished first in the long jump at the prestigious Clyde Little Texas Relays last week, putting forth an effort of 25-5.75. It was a season-best showing for Cole.

Hunt, a senior from San Diego, Calif., had a pair of solid showings at the Florida Relays, one of the nation's largest meets. She finished first in the discus with a toss of 168-10 and wrapped up the hammer in ninth after an effort of 170-03.
