With spring break a memory for the Cal Poly track & field team, the squad will welcome a number of teams this weekend on its home track for the Cal Poly Invitational.

The event, which features the Mustangs, Stanford, UC Irvine and UC Riverside, begins Friday afternoon with the men’s and women’s hammer throws, with the rest of the events scheduled for the following day beginning at 11:30 a.m.

The schedule also has another big-time event on the docket as the Cal-Nevada Championships take place this weekend at Warmerdam Field in Fresno, Calif. The championships feature some of the best clubs from the states of California and Nevada competing in the two-day event. This year, Cal State Northridge, UC Davis and UC Santa Barbara will be the Big West clubs heading to the meet.

Cal State Fullerton will be the lone club to leave the state over the weekend as the Titans, fresh off a solid performance at the Trojan Invitational, head to Tempe, Ariz., for the ASU/Clif Bar Invitational.
