Cal State Northridge put forth an excellent effort last weekend at the Northridge Relays and was rewarded by claiming three of the four Big West Weekly Track & Field honors.

The Matadors garnered the men’s track accolade thanks to Thomas Ross. The senior from Converse, Texas won the 110-meter hurdles in an NCAA Regional qualifying time of 14.24. CSUN also swept the field awards as Derek Cooper and Morgan Bogard claimed the men’s and women’s Field Athlete of the Week awards, respectively.

Cooper posted a pair of second place finishes in the shot put (57-5.75) and discus (173-1), with both marks surpassing the NCAA Regional qualifying standards. Bogard finished third in the hammer at the Northridge Relays, posting an NCAA Regional qualifying mark of 191-4.

The lone winner not from Cal State Northridge was UC Davis’ Kim Conley, who claimed the Track Women’s Athlete of the Week. Conley finished first in the 800 (2:10.84) and 1500 (4:24.30) at the UCSB Dual, posting an NCAA Regional qualifying mark in the event. She also ran the 800 for the first time this season, posting the seventh-best mark in program history.
