The final collegiate track meet of the 2007 outdoor season takes place this week as the NCAA Championships are in the national spotlight June 6-9 in Sacramento, Calif. Twenty-two Big West athletes will compete in the season-ending meet, scheduled to take place at Hornet Stadium on the campus of Sacramento State University.
UC Santa Barbara leads the way with six individual competitors, while Cal State Northridge and Long Beach State each have four representatives. Cal Poly and UC Irvine are both sending three to the championships, while Cal State Fullerton is sending a pair of athletes. The Matadors and 49ers are also sending relay squads as both clubs’ 4x100-meter contingents qualified for NCAAs.
For the second year in a row, the NCAAs will be a televised event. CSTV will broadcast the action Friday, June 8 from 5:30-8:30 (PST), while CBS will pick up the action on the final day of competition from 10 a.m. to noon (PST).
Four-day ticket packages begin at $65 for general admission and cost $80 for reserved seats. Single day tickets go on sale Wednesday at $20 for reserved and $15 for general admission for the first two days. Friday the prices go to $30 for reserved and $25 for general admission, while the final day’s single day prices are $35 for reserved and $30 for general admission.
