Idaho's Ray and Pater Named Track Athletes of the Week
LBSU's Lefler and Utah State's Burton Named Field Athletes of the Week

Idaho junior Patrick Ray (Mead, Wash.) was named Big West Male Track Athlete of the Week. The Vandal sprinter set the top time in the conference in the 200 meters with a 20.94 mark. His time also qualified for the NCAA Regionals and is the seventh fastest all-time in school history. Idaho junior Tanya Pater (Lake Stevens, Wash.) was named Big West Female Track Athlete of the Week. The Vandal runner set the top time in the 100 meters in the conference with a 11.71 mark, which ranks No. 2 all-time in school history. Pater also set the third-fastest time in the 200 meters in the league this season with a 24.28 mark.

Utah State sophomore Kelli Burton (Kaysville, Utah) was named Big West Female Field Athlete of the Week. The Aggie thrower set a new school record in the hammer at the Wilson Motor Qualifer with a 193-02 toss. Burton also won the discus with a toss of 167-01 and the shot put with a mark of 51-01.50. Long Beach State senior Doug Lefler (Frenchtown, Mont.) was named Big West Male Field Athlete of the Week after breaking his own school record in the javelin throw. Lefler's mark of 231-08 ranks No. 1 in the Big West and 15th in the nation this season. His distance in the javelin throw is over 31 feet better than the next conference athlete.
