- Black History Month
- February 4 - Rosa Parks Day
A day that honors the life of civil rights leader Rosa Parks. This day is commemorated in the states of California and Missouri on her birthday (Feb. 4) and in Ohio and Oregon on the day she was arrested (Dec. 1).
- February 14 - One Billion Rising
One Billion Rising is a global campaign to end rape and sexual violence against women. The number refers to the UN statistic that one in three women worldwide will be raped or beaten in her lifetime, about one billion.
- February 14 - Frederick Douglass Day
On the chosen birthdate of Frederick Douglass, the day is celebrated as a date of service and celebration of Black history. Douglass Day eventually paved the way for Black History Month.
- February 20 - World Day of Social Justice
An international day recognizing the need to promote social justice. These efforts including poverty, gender equality, human rights and social protections.

- August 9 - International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples
Observed each year to raise awareness and protect the rights of the world's indigenous population. It also recognizes the achievements and contributions of indigenous peoples all over the world.

- National Hispanic Heritage Month (begins on the 15th)
- September 21 - International Day of Peace
Sanctioned by the United Nations, the holiday is a shared date for all humanity to commit to contribute to building a culture of peace.
OCTOBER
- LGBTQ+ History Month

- October 10 - World Mental Health Day
A day that aims to improve and mobilize efforts toward global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma.
