Black History Month first originated as the “Negro History Week” which was developed by Carter G. Woodson. Since 1976, United States’ Presidents have declared February as National Black History Month. Every year, Black History Month has a designated theme. The theme for this year is, Black Family: Representation, Identity, and Diversity.
