Rowen Barnes of UC Davis Honored as CSC Baseball Academic All-American

UC Davis baseball student-athlete Rowen Barnes was named to the 2026 Academic All-America Baseball First Team for NCAA Division I, as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), on Tuesday.
 
The Aggie right-handed pitcher is one of 14 members on the first team and a total of 33 Division I Academic All-Americans.
 
Barnes, a graduate student majoring in management with a 3.55 GPA, is the 14th Aggie overall to be honored as an Academic All-American. The UC Davis closer went 2-0 with a miniscule 0.80 ERA and 12 saves over 27 appearances in 33.2 innings. At the end of the regular season, Barnes was tied for first in the conference and ranked third in the nation in saves.

Student-athletes must be in at least their second season, hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 and be an important contributor athletically to be eligible for the CoSIDA Academic All-District and All-America recognition. Member institutions of The Big West have had at least one Academic All-America honoree in every academic year since 1981-82.
