- Cal Poly infielder Alejandro Garza slashed .524/.524/.810 with 11 hits, six doubles, seven RBI and five runs scored in four games to win The Big West Baseball Field Player of the Week award. It is Garza’s first career weekly honor from the conference.
- The Mustang junior started the week with a 3-for-4 effort with one RBI and two runs in a 7-3 victory against Pepperdine, Tuesday night.
- Garza had an RBI double in Cal Poly’s 11-3 win in Friday's series-opener at UC San Diego.
- The junior from Bakersfield, Calif. had three hits, two RBI and one run scored as the Mustangs took game two against the Tritons, 5-3, and secured the series.
- Garza compiled four hits in Sunday’s series finale, including three doubles, with three RBI and two runs scored.
- Cal Poly is in first place in the standings with a 12-6 league record and is 21-17 overall. On the season, Garza has compiled a .379 batting average with 36 RBI and 33 runs scored.

Pitcher of the Week

- Cal State Fullerton starting pitcher Mikiah Negrete threw a complete game against No. 6 Oregon State to earn The Big West Baseball Pitcher of the Week award. It is Negrete’s second career weekly honor from the conference, having won it once earlier this season.
- In Friday's series-opening 2-1 road win at sixth-ranked Oregon State, the Titan lefty scattered three hits for one unearned run and amassed six strikeouts in 9.0 innings of work.
- The Oceanside, Calif. product got off to a hot start and retired the first nine Beaver batters in a row. It was the second time Negrete threw a complete game this season.
- Cal State Fullerton sits in fourth place in the conference standings with an 11-7 league record and is 19-19 overall. Negrete is 7-2 this season with a 1.33 ERA and 65 strikeouts in 7.2 innings of work this season.
