  • Cal Poly catcher Ryan Tayman slashed .471/.583/1.059 with eight hits, three home runs, five RBI and four runs scored in five games to earn The Big West Baseball Field Player of the Week award. It is the first career weekly honor from the conference for Tayman.

  • The junior opened the week collecting a hit and RBI against UC Davis, Monday night.

  • Tayman went 3-for-5 with a double, home run, two RBI and two runs scored in a 22-4 series-opening victory at UC Riverside on Friday.

  • The Grover Beach, Calif. native blasted a solo home run in game two against the Highlanders on Saturday.

  • Tayman closed the week with two more hits, including a home run, and helped Cal Poly to a 12-8 win in game three to clinch the series on Sunday.

  • Cal Poly is 16-10 overall and 10-2 in conference play. Tayman is currently hitting .319 with seven home runs, 25 RBI and 20 runs scored.

  • Cal State Fullerton starting pitcher Mikiah Negrete tossed a complete game shutout to earn The Big West Baseball Pitcher of the Week award. It is the first career weekly honor for Negrete.

  • In Friday's series opener at Hawai'i, the Titan lefty tossed all nine innings with a career-high 11 strikeouts, allowing just two hits and no runs. Cal State Fullerton defeated the Rainbow Warriors 2-0 in the game.

  • The Oceanside, Calif. product retired the side in order in the third, sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth innings.

  • Cal State Fullerton is 12-15 overall and 6-6 in conference play. Negrete is 4-2 with a 2.01 ERA and 48 strikeouts in 44.2 innings of work on the mound.
