Men's Swimming & Diving

CSUB’S Vili Sivec and Juan Esteban Ramirez Tamayo of UH Represent League Well in NCAA’s

The Big West was well represented at the 2026 NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships, as swimmer Vili Sivec and diver Juan Esteban Ramirez Tamayo carried their conference success onto the national stage.

Cal State Bakersfield senior swimmer Vili Sivec delivered a strong showing in the 100 butterfly, racing in heat two and posting times of 45.91 and 46.01. The NCAA appearance followed a standout performance at The Big West Championships, where the senior captured titles in both the 100 fly and 200 fly to secure qualification. Sivec's late-season surge highlighted a great end to a senior campaign, translating conference success into a national opportunity.

Hawai'i sophomore diver Juan Esteban Ramirez Tamayo also represented The Big West, recording a score of 257.20 to place 42nd overall. At the conference meet, the sophomore swept the 1-meter (360.70) and 3-meter (393.45) events while adding a runner-up finish on platform (390.20), establishing a dominant presence on the boards en route to NCAA qualification.

Both student-athletes will be back in action in the 2026 NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships. Tomorrow, March 27, Esteban Ramirez Tamayo competes in the 1M Diving events, while Sivec is set to swim on Saturday, March 28, as Sivec in the 200 butterfly.
