Field Player of the Week

- CSUN outfielder Matthew Thomas slashed .538/.648/1.615 with seven hits, four home runs, five RBI and nine runs scored in four games to win The Big West Baseball Field Player of the Week award. It is the first career weekly honor from the conference for Thomas.
- The junior had a two-homer performance with three runs scored in a 7-5 mid-week road victory at California Baptist, Tuesday night.
- Thomas hit 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and three runs scored in an 11-4 home win over Western Michigan on Saturday.
- The Garden Grove, Calif. picked up two more hits and another home run in Sunday's series finale against Western Michigan.
- CSUN has a 6-5 overall record so far this season. Thomas is currently hitting .359 with six home runs, 11 RBI and 16 runs scored.

- Hawai'i starting pitcher Isaiah Magdaleno pitched 8.1 innings of two-hit ball against Ball State to earn The Big West Baseball Pitcher of the Week award. It is the first career weekly honor for Magdaleno.
- In Friday’s series-opener against the Cardinals, the Rainbow Warrior righty struck out a career-high 12 batters over a career-long 8.1 innings on the mound and gave up only two hits for one unearend run.
- The Los Angeles, Calif. native retired 17 batters in a row from the third through the ninth inning.
- Hawai'i is 8-4 to begin the year. Magdaleno is 1-0 with a 2.79 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 19.1 innings on the mound this season.
