Three Titans Grab Double-Doubles to Launch No. 3 Cal State Fullerton into Big West Championship Semifinals

HENDERSON, Nev. -- No. 3 seed Cal St. Fullerton (18-15, 12-8 Big West) defeated No. 6 seed UC Davis (19-14, 11-9 Big West) 82-70 on Thursday at Lee's Family Forum in the second round of the 2026 Credit Union 1 Big West Championship. Three Titans recorded double-doubles with Joshua Ward's game-high 24 points and 10 rebounds, Bryce Cofield's 10 points and 10 rebounds, and Jefferson De La Cruz Monegro's 11 points and 10 rebounds. 

The Titans built a 12-point lead by halftime, increased it to as much as 21 points in the second half and maintained the advantage throughout. Cal State Fullerton capitalized at the charity stripe, converting 38 of 45 attempts. 

Trailing 16-13, Cal State Fullerton scored 25 points in the final seven minutes of the first half to take a 12-point advantage, 38-26, into the locker room. The Titans had a 28-15 advantage on the boards in the opening stanza. 

The second half saw Cal State Fullerton and UC Davis each score 44 points, but the Titans capitalized on their opportunities at the free-throw line, converting 25 of 29 attempts. A Bailey Nunn 3-pointer with 13:38 left gave Cal State Fullerton its biggest lead of the game, 54-33. The Aggies cut the deficit to as close as six points with two minutes remaining, but the Titans were able to knock down their free throws to ultimately prevail by 12, the final margin. 

A contributor outside of the three Titans with double-doubles was Landon Seaman who scored 16 points.  

Connor Sevilla led the Aggies in scoring with 20 points, including three successful 3-point attempts. Marcus Wilson pitched in 15 points and Brayden Fagbemi dished out six assists. 

The third-seeded Titans now match up with No. 2 seed Hawai'i in the Big West Championship semifinals on Friday, March 13 at 8:30 p.m.
