2025-26 Big West Men's Basketball All-Big West Team & Award Winners
The Big West is proud to announce its 2025-26 men’s basketball all-conference team and individual award winners as the 2026 Credit Union 1 Big West Men’s Basketball Championships gets set to tip off Wednesday at Lee’s Family Forum. The awards and all-conference teams were determined by the league’s 11 head coaches.
With the voting results, CSUN senior guard
Josiah Davis was tabbed the 2025-26 Big West Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year. The Kitchener, Ontario, Canada product averaged 15.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, conference-best 7.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game, leading CSUN to a 19-13 overall record, going 12-8 in league play. Davis’ 236 assists on the season ranks third in the nation.
Long Beach State guard
Gavin Sykes was picked as the Freshman of the Year. The Beach rookie was second in the conference in scoring, averaging 19.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest. Sykes ranks sixth nationally among freshman in scoring.
Cal State Fullerton 13th-year head coach
Dedrique Taylor was voted by fellow colleagues as the Coach of the Year. After being predicted to finish in last place in the Preseason Coaches’ Poll, Taylor helmed the Titans to a No. 3 seed in the Championship with a 12-8 league mark.
Regular-season champion UC Irvine collected two honors. The Anteaters boast the Best Defensive Player in senior center
Kyle Evans and the Best Sixth Player in graduate guard
Andre Henry. Evans led the nation and broke The Big West and school record for blocked shots with 109 in the regular season, to go with 11.9 points, on a league second-best 62.4 percent shooting, and 8.5 rebounds per game. Henry came off the bench and averaged 10.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game.
CSUN senior forward
Mahmoud Fofana got the votes for Best Hustle Player. Fofana started all 32 games for the Matadors, led the conference in field goal percentage with a 63.2 percent clip, averaging 11.3 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
The league’s head coaches also voted for two all-conference teams. Joining Davis and Evans on the 2025-26 All-Big West First Team are UC Irvine redshirt sophomore guard

Dixon led UC Irvine in scoring, averaging 15.7 points per game, the seventh-most in the league. The Anteater from San Diego, Calif. also logged 3.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.1 steals per outing. Johnson averaged 13.7 points, on a .506 field goal percentage and a conference third-best .880 free throw percentage, 5.8 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per contest. Mahaney put away 15.1 points and 2.7 assists per game. The Gaucho from Lafayette, Calif. ranked fourth in the league in 3-point percentage (.395) and 3-pointers per game (2.4). Mousa averaged a conference-leading 20.4 points and 6.3 rebounds per outing.
Bullock logged 13.6 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game. Henderson averaged a league third-best 18.1 points and 4.9 rebounds per contest. Hughes II was fourth in the conference in scoring at 17.6 points per outing. The Matador senior was third in the league in 3-point percentage at .395 from behind the arc and first in 3-point field goals, making 3.1 per game. Ward put up numbers of 14.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.6 steals per contest.
The 2026 Credit Union 1 Big West Men’s Basketball Championship begins at 6 p.m. on Wednesday night, March 11, from Lee’s Family Forum in Henderson, Nev. All seven games will feature live video coverage across ESPN platforms, with Saturday’s final on primetime with a 7 p.m. PT tip-off and airing live on ESPN2.
