  • UC Santa Barbara second baseman Cade Goldstein slashed .500/.600/.750 with six hits, three RBI and four runs scored in a three-game road series against No. 20 Southern Miss to win The Big West Baseball Field Player of the Week award. It is the freshman’s first career weekly honor from the conference.

  • Goldstein started the week with a 2-for-4 performance in a 5-1 season-opening win against the 20th-ranked Golden Eagles, Friday.

  • The Calabasas, Calif. product went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in the second game of the series, Saturday

  • In Sunday’s rubber match, Goldstein had two hits with two runs and two RBI. The Gaucho second baseman drove home UCSB’s first run and hit a game-tying two-run home run in the latter stages of the game.

  • UC Santa Barbara starting pitcher Jackson Flora pitched 6.0 innings of shutout ball against No. 20 Southern Miss to earn The Big West Baseball Pitcher of the Week award. It is Bremner's second career weekly honor, having won it once last season.

  • In Friday’s season-opening road matchup against the 20th-ranked Golden Eagles, the UCSB righty pitched six shutout frames, striking out five and scattering three hits in the process.

  • UC Santa Barbara won the season opener, 5-1, handing Southern Miss its first Opening Day loss since 2014.
