2025 Fall Academic All-Conference
A total of 440 student-athletes who compete in the fall sports of men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s volleyball and men's water polo across The Big West were honored for their work in the classroom and on the playing field as members of the 2025 Big West Fall Academic All-Conference Team. The 440 distinguished student-athletes is slightly lower than the 445 honored in 2024, but still an improvement from 419 in 2023 and 409 in 2022.
In order to qualify for the Academic All-Conference honor, a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.00 cumulative institutional grade point average (GPA), must have completed one full academic year at the member institution prior to the season for which the award is being received, and must have competed in at least 50 percent of the institution's contests in the student-athlete's respective sport, with the exception of cross country student-athletes. In the sport of cross country, a student-athlete must have competed in either 50 percent of the institution’s events or participated in the Conference Championship.
Fourteen of the 440 student-athletes honored boast a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA:

Lana Gilligan (UC San Diego/women’s soccer),
Zachary Graeber (UC Davis/men’s cross country),
Timothy Kerr (UC Davis/men’s water polo),
Katie Kolar (CSUN/women’s volleyball),
Keegan McGann (UC Irvine/men’s water polo),
Kyle Reden (Long Beach State/men’s cross country),
Tatiana Turgeon (CSUN/women’s volleyball).
By sport, women’s soccer had by far the most honorees with 115 student-athletes named to the team. Men's soccer had 89, followed by women's cross country (79), men's water polo (61), women's volleyball (57) and men's cross country (39).
By school, UC San Diego and UC Santa Barbara had the most student-athletes honored with 53 apiece. Not far behind the was UC Davis with 51, Cal Poly with 46, and UC Irvine and Cal State Fullerton with 43 each. CSUN (33), Long Beach State (32), UC Riverside (30), Hawai‘i (25), Cal State Bakersfield (23) had over 20 earn the conference’s academic accolade.
The Big West recognizes individuals academically per season – fall, winter, and spring – for all conference-sponsored sports. The Winter Academic All-Conference Team will honor men’s and women’s basketball and men's and women's swimming & diving student-athletes, with the Spring Academic All-Conference Team consisting of student-athletes from men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s track and field, women’s water polo, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s volleyball, beach volleyball, softball and baseball.
